World champions Italy beat France 2-0 in Group C last match yesterday to qualify for the quater-finals of EURO 2008. It was Azzuri's first win over France without the help of a penalty shoot-out in 30 years, the last occasion being a 2-1 at the 1978 World Cup. Goal by Andrea Pirlo and Danielle De Rossi sent Italy through to knock-out stage quater-final against Spain on 23rd June in Vienna.
